Josep Vila
Josep Vila i Jover was born in Granollers in 1970 and studied singing and piano at the Conservatori Municipal Josep M. Ruera, Granollers. He trained as a choral director under Enric Ribó, Manel Cabero, Conxita Garcia and the German maestro Christian Grube.

He currently directs the Cor de Cambra de Granollers and the Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió, with whom he has won choral competitions and festivals such as the Certamen Coral de Tolosa, the Certamen Juvenil d´Havaneres de Torevella, the International Music Festival of Cantonigrós and the International Festival of Choral Singing of Malgrat de Mar.

Under his direction, both choirs have carried out various productions, the most recent being their first performances and recordings of John Rutter’s Dancing Day and Britten’s Ceremony of Carols (La Mà de Guido - 2012), El Bestiolari by Albert Guinovart (Tot Sona Records - 2010) and Josep Maria Ruera’s Música Vocal (Ars Harmonica – 2009). Vila i Jover has also brought “pocket size” versions of operas to the stage, among them Brundibar a Therezin in collaboration with dramatist Quim Lecina, performances for families such as Després del Jazz and V-E-U-S!, and large-scale choral performances, such as John Rutter’s Magnificat, with the Cor de Cambra de Granollers.

Josep Vila I Jover has taught choral direction courses for the Secretariado de Corales Infantiles de Catalunya, master classes for the Federación de Coros Infantiles de Álava, he has directed the choir of the Conservatori Josep Maria Ruera de Granollers and has been a jury member at prestigious choral contests such as the one in Torrevieja and Ensembles Polyphoniques in Provence.
